Social Equality vs Patriarchy

Although it must be noted that the existence of intersex people and others with chromosomal anomalies challenges this neat, sex binary. Culture, on the other hand, has made an imaginary classification of humankind into genders: man and woman, mainly. This is precisely what defines patriarchy. It is a universal phenomenon that constructs societies across the world.  It basically decodes a set of rules or qualities, such as dressing style, walking style, gestures like shyness, and many other behavioural traits that makes a man a “man”, and a and a woman a “woman”. Any deviation from these preconceived notions will lead to the person being seen as incomplete. This arbitrary differentiation between men and women is the basis of hierarchy, in a pat

He who has a why to live can bear almost anyhow

Psychatrist Viktor Frankl, a jew in the concentration camps during the Nazi Germany era, describes the year 1933 as the bad times- no food, people were kept naked, and a lot of torture.  He saw his family- brother, wife, die crying before his eyes. He was demoralized to the core of everything. He lost hope in life. So, at any moment he would have given up and he just thought that the next moment he could be in grief.  But one day when he was all alone in a dark room, naked, he sat and thought what's happening to him? And he thought that these Nazi cops have tortured him like hell but he still had one choice. There is stimulus and there is a response but between these two there is something-'Freedom'. Freedom to make a choice about how to respond.  He decided not to give up even in his worst times. And survived to inspire the world. Viktor Frankl says that -" life is not primarily a quest for pleasure or a quest for power, but it is a quest for meaning ." And to

Many young people nowadays, like her, are dedicated to advancing their careers using what limited resources they may have.  The majority of Indians are young people like Vasuni

fundamentalism destroys everything

"Ati sarvatra varjayet."- Chanakya, a renowned scholar of contemporary India, revealed this Sanskrit sutra that helped to decipher the natural law. It merely serves as a warning that having too much of something is harmful and can lead to irreparable damage. Fundamentalism is also a pinnacle in terms of unshakable adherence to a collection of unchangeable beliefs.                                           photo by  Freepik    Globally, fundamentalism was supposed to have peaked in the 17th century. Its fundamental tenet is strict adherence to religious practices and beliefs that are based on sacred religious texts like the Bible, Quran, Manusmriti , etc. Without evaluating its applicability and relevance in the present world, it promotes a way of living that resists change and impedes the development of a man as a socio-cultural, political, and human being.    Extremism of views, thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, and superstitions is the fundamental cause of the bar

many pitfalls in the electoral process stylised rise of a developed India

Many pitfalls in our electoral process stymied rise of a developed India    After being in British heritage for nearly 10 decades, India has evolved from provincial autonomy into a union of states.Though this transformation did not happen overnight. It was the fruit of the consistent demand for constituent assembly and poorna swaraj by our freedom fighters. And finally, on 26th November, 1949, India became sovereign, socialist, democratic and republic.  Democracy means that India shall have an elected representative. Where citizens can choose their representatives by casting vote from their constituency and the chosen candidate will be held responsibe of making decisions on citizen's behalf. Thus democracy is said to be of the people, for the people, and by the people.  Adult franchise suffrage is a powerful tool to ensure democracy. It can change the nature of governance after every five years.  Candidates contesting elections need to be inclined towards public's demand. Ideal
